This weekend was CRAZY busy…
Well let me start with Thursday. I started pulling out stuff for our trip this week, and decided our one stitch patch on our park bag looked lonely, so I dragged out my patch collection to see what I could do.
After some fiddling around with placement and seeing what would fit, I ended up with the 3 princesses around Stitch (since he’s playing a guitar it looks like they are all dancing around him), Corellian Base on the lower pocket, Beauxbatons on the upper pocket, and “I smile because I have no idea what is going on” on the very top LOL It’s a little crowded but who cares, it’s fun.
We picked up Kevin on Friday, I sewed that evening (I’ll get to that in a minute). Saturday I was up way too early, Chase went and got breakfast and I started painting myself green. I started having to trouble with my brushes & sponges once I got to my arms, I don’t know what the issue was, if they were overloaded? So my arms and back ended up being a little streaky and for some reason everytime I tried to dust on my setting powder it was WIPING the makeup off. So I just used hairspray, which didn’t work as well.
Kevin wore Harry Potter, but without the wig and just his regular shoes, so we called him Perry Hotter. Here he is posing like Perry Hotter (“the opposite of Harry Potter so he would be scared” as Kevin explained)
On the way to the con a van cut us off, came over on top of us in the lane and Chase had to swerve and brake hard. I was in the backseat and even with my seatbelt on hit the back of the driver’s seat… and got green all over it LOL
But other than the makeup problems I really liked how my costume turned out! I do need to shorten the petticoat a little more, it was showing on the sides, and I need to take up the shoulder seams a little – it was a little baggy in the front and just tightening the shoulders up by a half-inch on each side helped eliminate it, so that’s an easy fix. I think I may want new eyelashes, too. These were cute, but I want to find something metallic.
I let Kevin have my little camera for the day and he went nuts taking photos. Of course, I promised him I would buy him skittles if he took photos of at least 20 costumes. But he said he had fun doing it, too, and ended up taking quite a bit more than 20.
After a few hours of shopping and dinking around we had to leave so I could go home and wash up for our hair appointments at 3. Chase and I both had appointments – and he managed to squeeze Kevin in, too!
Speaking of washing up, I got one more post-make-up bathtub removal shot for my collection:
So anyway, since we were there for over 3 hours, Kevin and I had a lot of fun playing with snapchat filters while we were waiting.
Well that’s weird:

Oh here’s some more con photos from my phone that uploaded out of order…
An attempt was made:
Wonder Disgust… or Disgust Woman?:
After our haircuts we had to rush to dinner – Chase’s birthday dinner! We had some good italian food with my family and by then we were absolutely exhausted and went home and passed out.
Sunday we were up early again to run errands for our trip – grocery, Target, etc. We also took all of our collected change to the Coin-Star machine. We have a cup in the kitchen we just throw all of our change into, and we each guessed how much it would end up being – Kevin guessed $9. I said $12, Chase said $16-$18. We were totally surprised when it ended up being $50!! That’s gas for our trip! We kept $5 of it in quarters for toll roads and anything else we might need change for.
Then I had to get my butt home and get sewing – these are the 6 dresses mom and I are tag-teaming for a play. All 6 are the same, just different sizes:
I got mine done!! I just have to press the last one and I can hand them over tonight.
Then we went to get dinner and see Zootopia, yay. It was cute.
The only thing I didn’t get around to this weekend was PACKING! I’m working late today and tomorrow so I’ve got to find time to pack somewhere. I’m a little flustered over it.
